What Is the Priapus Shot?
The Priapus Shot® (or P-Shot for short) is an all-natural alternative treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED). The frequency of ED tends to increase with age, and scientists estimate that 50% of men between the ages of 35 and 65 will encounter ED. The P-Shot is ideal for men who have lost erectile function as a result of medical conditions (such as hypertension or diabetes), medication side effects, enlarged prostate (BPH), prostate cancer, or surgical adverse effects. Additionally, the P-Shot may be helpful with male enhancement (increasing the size of the penis) as well as Peyronie’s disease, a condition causing painful curved erections.
How Does the P-Shot Work?
The P-Shot works by stimulating the growth of new erectile tissue as well as increasing the blood flow to the penis, both of which translate into a revitalized sexual outlook. After all, Priapus was the Greek god of virility. Currently, there are just over 20 medications approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of ED. The P-Shot represents an alternative non-surgical approach dedicated to the treatment of ED.
What Is in the Priapus Shot?
The Priapus shot contains naturally derived growth factors that are harvested from a small blood sample drawn from the patient. These growth factors are akin to stem cells, making the P-Shot a kind of stem cell treatment. Since these growth factors are already present in the blood, there is little chance of rejection of the P-Shot by the body. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is the key to this process and is obtained by using a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other blood cells. Afterwards, the PRP (containing concentrated levels of growth factors) is injected into the shaft of the penis. The whole P-Shot process takes 30 to 40 minutes to complete.
How Fast Can I See Results? Are There Any Side Effects? Risks? Downtime?
The Priapus Shot provides immediate results, with the optimal results taking 3 to 4 weeks and lasting 1 to 2 months. The most common (and only reported) side effect was bruising/tenderness at the injection site. Since the PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood, there have been no reported incidents of bodily rejection. No additional risks/side effects associated with the P-Shot have been reported. There is no downtime with the procedure, and most patients resume normal activities the same day as the procedure. Overall, the P-Shot is safe and poses no significant risk to one’s health.
What Can I Expect from the P-Shot?
