At Precision MD, we advocate healthy lifestyle choices and positive self-image. We support your decision to get a body you can feel good about, including undergoing cosmetic procedures (liposuction, augmentation, etc). Many of us want to have that fit and lean body; but sometimes, diet and exercise just aren’t enough. Thankfully, we offer innovative liposuction procedures.
What is Liposuction?
Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure designed to remove excess body fat in specific areas of your body that you can’t shed through diet and countless gym hours. Body fats (read: lipids hence “lipo”) get deposited in fleshy parts of the body like the tummy, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, back, and face.
Liposuction literally means “lipid sucking”. During the procedure, a determined amount of fat is removed from the body using specialized processes. There are various options for lipo when you visit our office, including Smart, Tumescent, Tickle, and Vaser.
Before You Get Liposuction
Liposuction is one of the most popular and common cosmetic procedures in the United States, and for good reason. The procedure offers quick, effective, and visible results within just days, especially when you take advantage of one of the innovative techniques that we offer. However, liposuction requires your full consent. We want you to be happy with yourself after the procedure.
Setting Expectations
We want you to be realistic. Liposuction will not remove any cellulite, nor will it keep the body fat from returning if you don’t have a say. We still recommend exercise and proper diet after the procedure to maintain your body shape and weight.
Before the operation, you will be provided with more information so that you have realistic expectations regarding the procedure, recovery, and results. The procedure will require some type of recovery period to allow your body to heal completely. This means we will impose restrictions regarding your daily activities (until full recovery).
Are You a Candidate for Liposuction?
Liposuction’s benefits outweigh its risks. Nonetheless, we still want you to meet certain qualifications such as:
- At or close to your ideal weight
- No medicinal allergies
- No smoking and drinking (before and after the operation)
- No skin conditions
- No blood or heart problems
- No diabetes
- No immune system problems
Before the procedure, we will evaluate your overall physical health, as well as your emotional and psychological status. We will discuss your goals and expectations and align it with ours.
