What Is the PRP Breast Lift?
The PRP Breast Lift is revolutionizing breast enhancement as the first nonsurgical breast lift procedure. It utilizes the science of platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy and is very similar to the PRP Facelift.
The PRP Breast Lift has three stages. The first step entails drawing a small amount of blood, no more than a few teaspoons, into a tube. In the second step, the tube of blood is placed in a centrifuge that spins at a high rate of speed, separating and isolating the PRP from other blood components, which takes approximately 15 minutes. The isolated PRP contains stem cells and a multitude of natural growth factors responsible for the skin’s healing and regenerative properties. In the third step, the PRP is mixed with a skin filler such as Restylane® or Juvéderm®, and injected into the targeted areas, such as the upper breasts and the skin between the breasts.
How Is It Different from a Traditional Breast Lift?
The VPRP Breast Lift should not be viewed as a replacement for traditional breast lifts or breast augmentation procedures—it won’t double your cup size overnight. As it is a nonsurgical procedure, the PRP Breast Lift does not have any of the associated risks or side effects of traditional surgery (pain, infection, etc.). Additionally, it does not require general anesthesia, which can also have side effects, like nausea and vomiting. There is no downtime associated with this nonsurgical breast lift, while a traditional breast lift has significant associated downtime. Besides no vigorous exercise for a short period of time, you can resume normal activities the same day as the PRP Breast Lift. Lastly, unlike traditional breast lifts, the procedure does not decrease breast or nipple sensitivity—in fact, the PRP Breast Lift has been reported as possibly increasing sensitivity in both these areas.
The Ideal Candidate and What to Expect with the PRP Breast Lift
The ideal candidate for the PRP Breast Lift is a woman content with the size of her breasts, but has concerns with their overall appearance. In addition to reshaping and rounding out the bust line, the procedure is touted as a fix for sagging breasts, nipple inversion, breast wrinkling/rippling, asymmetry, and breast stretch marks. Patients can expect an immediate boost in their cleavage, making the breasts fuller and perkier with a more youthful appearance. Optimal results are expected by 2 months after the procedure, as the growth factors in the PRP stimulate the new production of collagen and fatty tissue. Since the procedure is a nonsurgical breast lift, there are not many side effects. As a matter of fact, there has never been a documented complication from the use of the PRP Breast Lift in any medical literature. The procedure can be completed in less than 1 hour, and results can last up to 2 years.
